I clean my house with green soap

He spat out a shamrock
that landed on the nose of my shoe
and said, "Oy'll grant'cha ey wish!"
The leprechaun's accent
was thicker than Guinness foam.
"Gee, thanks!", I replied.
My tone had perhaps been
a little bit rude, but we all know
those green pixies can't be trusted.
Curious by nature I am,
thus tempted to give it a try.
After all - what harm could he possibly do
here in the safety of my small backyard?
And so I bent down and whispered
into his hairy ear "Listen carefully,
you little gnome! I’ve always wanted myself
a greenhouse ..."

Made for a Cherry Pie swap where the host will bind the houses together in a row. We are 10 players, so I will get a row of 10 different houses back. Cool swap idea, isn't it?

This time of year ...

This is a calendar I made for a one-to-one swap. Since it's already late in the year, I started the calendar with April.

Oh, dear. What a lousy picture. Well, anyway. Here's a close up of the quote I used:

For the calendar I have used a FreeWare from Red Castle. You can customize your own calendars and print out. Very easy and fun to use. Check it out! :-)

Beware of the Viking!

Here's something you won't see me do every day. In fact, I don't think I've ever made a baby card before. My friends are too old to have kids, and still too young to have grand children. This is a card I made for my neighbor, who's friend in Iceland just had a baby boy. So finally - I got to use the baby viking I had made for my own line of stamps nearly 9 years ago! Isn't he adorable? :-)

To read or not to read ...

We had another swap at the Cherry Pie group, and I made these bookmarks:

The printed text says, "To read is to touch the author's soul with your own eyes".
I made it up to use for the swap, though I'm sure the same thing or similar has been said before. If you emphasise the word OWN, my meaning comes out more clearly. (To read is to touch the author's soul with your OWN eyes). Or to put it this way; when we read a book, we always read it from where we stand, from our own point of view; we always add our own, personal and unique flavour to the text. We may think that we know the author better after having read her book, and maybe we do - to some degree. What I find interesting, though, is that reading a book can make us get to know OURSELVES better! If we pay attention to how we react, to what the book does to the way we think and feel WHILE READING, reading can be an eye opener about ourselves.

Close up, inside book page ("The scream", by Norwegian painter Edvard Munch):

I made the eyes by using a marker on some facial stamps, adding color to the eyes only:
